Round 2 Review: KartStars Canada visits Point Pelee Karting and Delivers Another Successful Event

Round 2 Review: KartStars Canada visits Point Pelee Karting and Delivers Another Successful Event

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, July 29, 2021

They say good things come to those who wait, and after having to delay its visit to Point Pelee Karting by more than a year, KartStars Canada finally made good this past weekend. The KartStars team hit the mark once again as the championship contested its second round, and the Point Pelee crew went over and above in producing an outstanding event.

Matching the upward trend realized at the opener, participation was up over 20% in comparison to Round 2 at Innisfil last year. With 149 entries spread across Briggs and Rok classes, the event produced a special atmosphere that was inclusive for entire families. A special thanks must go to PPK Karting for its exceptional hospitality, as the event included a welcome party with a meal, and a fireworks show for all to enjoy. Point Pelee Kart Club went over and above, both in encouraging member participation and in helping with personnel. A massive podium presentation was a fitting way to end what was a great weekend of racing, and drivers left happy regardless of their results on track.

“Over the years our team has been fortunate enough to organize and execute some of the biggest events in the country,” said KartStars Canada President Daniel Di Leo. “With our experience, we are pretty good at understanding the dynamics of an event like this and can usually forecast participation levels – but I can tell you that 150 entries exceeded the expectations of everyone involved. It was just a fantastic event all around, and we are extremely grateful for the support we received from the Ontario karting community. I also need to express just how proud I am of our staff. This was the first true ‘away’ race for us and we didn’t miss a beat in putting together a road show. It wasn’t easy, but everyone got the job done and we are already looking forward to the next one!”

Reviving the Bear Hunt tradition, the KartStars Team is excited to renew a tradition that has been a part of Ontario karting for decades. With tickets to represent Team Canada on the line, drivers will be motivated as Rok Superfinal and Rok Las Vegas tickets are up for grabs.

Move in and set up is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, with sunset practice beginning later in the day. A full schedule will be available Friday June 30th as registration opens for the event. We are expecting this to be a great event. Don’t miss out! Stay tuned for future announcements.
