RACE FORMAT

Maintaining its vision, organizing high level events that offer increased competition but at a reasonable price point, KartStars Canada looks to continue that approach delivering value-added competition tailored to grassroots racers. A new race-day format has been published, offering a single-day format across all classes with a focus on extended session runs this time around.

For all classes: Qualifying will determine the starting order for Heat 1 and Heat 2. Cumulative results from Qualifying, Heat 1 and Heat 2 will determine starting order for the Pre-Final. The finishing order from the Pre-Final will determine the starting order for the final. The results from the Final will determine overall finishing positions and podium winners.

For all classes: Qualifying will determine the starting order for the Pre-Final. The finishing order from the Pre-Final will determine the starting order for the final. The results from the Final will determine overall finishing positions and podium winners.

*Rotax classes will be a three round championship utilizing the Round 1 (Goodwood), Round 2 (Mosport) and Round 5 (Hamilton). All other classes will be offered at all five rounds.

*KartStars Cadet,KartStars Junior and KartStars Senior are Special ‘Promotional’ classes added to select KartStars Events.

 

 

KartStars Cadet will follow the same rules as Briggs Cadet with the following exceptions:

                                – Class Eligibility: Open to drivers who have registered in Briggs Cadet

                                – Class weight: 220lbs. Slide: Red

                                – Entry Fee to this class is heavily discounted

 

  KartStars Junior will follow the same rules as Briggs Junior with the following exceptions:

                                – Class Eligibility: Open to drivers who have registered in either Briggs Junior or Briggs JR Lite

                                – Class weight: 285lbs. Slide: Gold

                                – Entry Fee to this class is heavily discounted

 

   KartStars Senior will follow the same rules as Briggs Senior with the following exceptions:

                                – Class Eligibility: Open to drivers who have registered in either Briggs Senior or Briggs Masters

                                – Class weight: 360lbs. Slide: Black

                                – Entry Fee to this class is is heavily discounted

The Point System:  Five Rounds, no-drop format (Race 3, 1.5 Multiplier)

 

Championship Standing and Point Scoring System:

  • Based on the results from the Final. Driver will score points as follows:

  • Based on results from Qualifying. The Pole winner will score 25 bonus points.

 

Rounds 1, 2, 3 and 5 of the championship will carry equal weight. Round 4, the KartStars National Championship Round will have points multiplied by 1.5 in calculating a championship total for each driver.

 

There are no drops in the KartStars Championship

Entry Fees and Series Pricing:

 

  • Briggs&Stratton Class Entry Fee: $195
  • VLR/Rotax Class Entry Fee: $295
  • KartStars Cadet*, KartStars Junior* and KartStars Senior* Entry Fee: $135
  • Pre-Event Practice: $90 (Optional)
  • Transponder Rental: $15 (Optional)

 

Race Tires:

 

  • For ALL 2-Stroke classes, only one set of Race Tires can be used. Race Tires must be bought through KartStars Canada during pre-registration.

 

  • For ALL Briggs classes, drivers can run NEW Race tires or bring their own USED Race tires as long as they meet class specs. If drivers choose to run NEW Race tires, those tires must be bought through KartStars Canada during pre-registration.

Race Awards and Championship Prizes

KartStars Canada Sponsored Awards:

Trophies will be awarded to podium finishers in all classes at each race.

Cash awards to podium finishers in KartStars Cadet, KartStars Junior and KartStars Senior.

 

Sunoco Race Fuels Sponsored Awards:

Class participants in Mini Rok, VLR Junior, VLR Senior and VLR Masters will be entered into a random draw at each Drivers meeting. A can of fuel will be raffled off at each round.

 

Vega Tires Sponsored Awards:

One randomly selected Briggs class participant will win a set of Vega ONT Racing Slicks. Draw to take place at the Podium presentation. Winner must be present.

One randomly selected Rok class participant will win a set of Vega ONT or LeVanto Racing Slicks. Draw to take place at the Podium presentation. Winner must be present.

 

ROK/Vortex Canada Sponsored Awards:

One randomly selected Rok class participants will win free entry to the next round.

 

Briggs & Stratton Sponsored Awards:

One randomly selected Briggs class participants will win free entry to the next round.

Champions will receive coveted ‘Class Champion Rings’.

SuperFinal tickets awarded to all Rok Class Champions ANDKartStars National Champions.
